FPSO Cidade de Saquarema achieved first oil on July 8, 2016.
The vessel is installed in the Lula field (BM-S-11 contract) in the pre-salt province offshore Brazil and SBM Offshore will operate it under a 20-year charter. Cidade de Saquarema is the second pre-salt FPSO to go into operation this year for Petrobras, both delivered on fast-track schedules. FPSOCidade de Saquarema achieved first oil within 47 days of sailaway from our Joint Venture yard Brasa in Niteroi, Rio.
SBM Offshore has delivered four FPSOs in the Brazil pre-salt area in the last four years, bringing to a total of seven FPSOs in the Company’s Brazilian fleet. FPSOCidade de Saquarema is owned and operated by affiliated companies of SBM Offshore, Mitsubishi Corporation, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, and Queiroz Galvão Óleo e Gás S.A. in which SBM Offshore’s shareholding is 56%.
