SBM Offshore and Technip Energies Launch Ekwil Joint Venture for Floating Offshore Wind

SBM Offshore and Technip Energies have officially launched Ekwil, a 50/50 joint venture focused on Floating Offshore Wind (FOW) solutions. Ekwil aims to meet the growing global demand for renewable energy with a range of ‘series production’ FOW technologies. The joint venture combines the expertise of both companies, featuring the Semi-submersible INO15 by Technip Energies and the Tension Leg Platform Float4Wind by SBM Offshore.

Headquartered in France, Ekwil is supported by a team of 40 specialists and the extensive resources of both parent companies. The venture is led by CEO Séverine Baudic, formerly Managing Director of New Energies & Services at SBM Offshore, and COO Willy Gauttier, previously VP Floating Offshore Wind at Technip Energies.
